Here is what I plan to be the second cover of Black Circle. Background was a bitch initially, but it worked out =P I need to draw more cars in my environments. Will work on that!!!

WILL UPDATE ONCE I FIND NEW SITE!!!

Here is a fanart I did for the awesome inkmo http://www.jackmo.com/ His recent robot hooker stuff has been hilarious, and the beach party comic he put up on deviantart is awesome too.

He is now balless and flawless, and he has been officially dubbed P.U.M.A (Paul Usul Muad'dib Atreides) god emperor of the known universe.

MEOW!

WILL UPDATE ONCE I FIND NEW SITE!!!

Our apartment is officially put together, so once the Stokoe and I have some cash flow we will have many people over and buy them booze and pizza. I think its called a party or something! HUZZAH!! I will buy Steve something pretty cause we're probably the lamest of the lames when it comes to attending events. (happy dolphin on a cellphone is our desktop image now) Here's some pics of the apartment!

I've been picking up lots of work from various sources, and I want to jump into the commission bandwagon, so I can feed my cat and maybe even the Stokoe. Here's some random art I've done recently.

Wonton Soup 2 is out and about and ruining minds, so I highly suggest snatching a copy up! Here is a link to an interview James did over at Newsarama http://newsarama.com/comics/060930-WonTon2.html aaaand a 19 page preview they put up at CBR http://www.comicbookresources.com/?page=preview&id=2858

Chris Reid and John Kantz webcomic at http://www.jackmo.com/ is brilliant and hilarious. The cyborg hooker shorts at the moment are among my favorite things.

So this morning we walked outside and immediately noticed a cheerios box stapled to the fence. After further investigation we determined it was a passive aggressive message towards James' smoking habit. Apparently they didn't approve of the butts. Which is fairly reasonable, but the message is scrawled out in serial killer writing and the first letter of every word is capitalized. This has now brought about a game called "Which crazy person on our block wrote the sign?". Is it the one dude who beats on the trashcans and screams "FUCK!" repeatedly in the morning, or is it the crazy asian lady across the way who points at people while talking to herself. My money is on the dude who stares at you like you're the devil, and then investigates the mattress that's leaning on a fence multiple times daily (It's like deja vu!!!). Good times =P

I apologize to Steve for not making it to the party he invited us to. It wasn't James' fault! I totally passed out cause I'm a puss. ;___;

A couple more pages.

Vancouver is rad. I lubs it! One of the big ups of living around here is that theres lots of rad dudes around. Basically, good times! Our apartment situation is pretty funny. We've got one airbed a blanket, two pillows and our computer. Oh! and James' momma sent a coffee maker, but the carafe decided to self destruct during the shipping process, but with misfortune comes awesome!

So I got my grubby hands on this ongoing manga called Oboreru Knife, and I am head over heels for it, but the damn thing isn't translated yet! George Asakura is my favorite ladies manga creator. Her approach is honest and her characters are realistic, but she always makes it entertaining. Here are some korean translated pages from her comic, and I did a little fanart =P

I've done a bunch of new pagies and I'm finally joining large sections of the story together. I'm never drawing pages like that again!!! Here's a big chunk.

This is around the time of year I rehash my love for The Thing. Its almost winter and halloween is even closer. What could be better than a snowbound horror classic! That and it stars Captain Ron Jack Burton. There are so many good moments in this movie. When they do the blood test and the infected dude's head explode melts into a venus fly trap monster, bites Window's head and swings him around. So awesome!!!

The effects on The Thing are incredible too. A time without CG!!!!

CG has this annoying too smooth slightly off color look. Its jarringly fake to me, but when creators use real materials to create an effect, even if theres a hint of rubber mask, I don't find myself getting distracted or off put.

That could never be as good in CG. Never ever.

My top 10 favorite horror scenes.

1. The Thing - blood test/venus fly trap scene is hands down my favorite.
2. The Exorcist - the added crawling down the stairs backwards and trapping mom in room with wardrobes/cross mutilation scenes.
3. 28 Days Later - Cillian Murphy in the church is my most favorite zombie moment.
4. The Shining - Rotting bathtub lady and Bear suit BJ tie for disturbing.
5. Warlock - A medium is possessed by a demon which kills her and then the Warlock takes her eyes out and uses them as a guide. Raaaad and gross. The rest of the movie is pretty funny though. Warlock 2 has a man baby birth, but thats just gross to be gross.
6. Pet Sematary - Creepy child performs achilles heel destruction and the spiral meningitis lady.
7. Texas Chainsaw Massacre - When the girl almost escapes the house and leather face crashes through the door and pulls her back in kicking totally bothers me. That and meat hooks. Total redneck horror at its harshest.
8. Suspira - Pat and her unfortunate friend meet their end with rope and stained glass. Not too many good witch movies, but this is totally one!
9. Evil Dead - Tree rape!!!!!!! OW!!!!!!!!
10. Near Dark - Bill Paxton deals death damage with his cowboy boot while dancing on a bar top. Best vampire flick ever made!!!

I kinda feel bad about no Romero, but I'm not a zombie movie purist. Night of the Living Dead is the only movie of his that I actually consider to be scary. The daughter scene is evil, and the whole idea of barricading your home from a zombie attack is something everybody thinks about. Ben is a solid protagonist too. I should love Dawn of the Dead, but I don't even consider it horror. Its kinda funny, it has a goofy biker gang and I really don't care about either of the protagonists. If I want funny horror I'll watch Evil Dead II.

What are your favorite horror scenes????

My life is lurking in the basement on a zombie work all night sleep all day schedule, but I'm getting lots of pages done. I wrote about 50 pages worth of story on black circle and I've got the first issue (30 pages) pencilled and inked. I'm 6 pages into the second issue, so good times. I'm psyched for the damn thing! Its rocking!

I wrote a bunch more, but this house has a retarded internet turns off when the phone rings issue, so everything I wrote evaporated into internet purgatory.

Craqued I totally changed all the hooded demons into ash creatures, so you rock!

Heres some new pagies and the new cover thing. No lettering because I've been doing that on typing paper. I edit way too much, so I didn't feel like screwing up pages with lettering I'm not even going to use.

Stuff and things and postings to be made.

I think every morning for the last week except for this morning I've woken up to the sounds of "Take That". I don't know if anybody is doing any studies out there, but I have a feeling that its not good for your general mental health. All those fists of pure emotion and what not. To balance things out I've taken up yoga as a healthy activity. Yes I enjoy cooking and yoga I am a raging ball of lame. I like it though! Makes me feel less clumsy haha

In art stuff I think I am secure with "Black Circle" being the title of my witch comic. Now all I've gotta do is FINISH THE DAMN THING. I plan on coloring it also, but not in the dramatic fashion I colored this pinup I'm about to post.... damn thing took all night.

James and I have been having kind of a movie fest at our place thanks to the wonders of the internet. Yesterday we watched Eastern Promises, Mortal Kombat, Live Free or Die Hard, Daylight (well I only made it half way through) and Juno. We also watched Cloverfield together.

Juno was fantastic! Its by the same dude who made "Thank you for Smoking" and Juno is every bit as witty funny and touching (corny i know) as its predecessor. I can't recall the girl's name who plays the lead, but she's a great actress. It warmed my icy black heart!!! Its about Juno, a funny quirky teenager who accidentally gets herself knocked up, and the choices she has to make. Its more than that but I don't want to give away anything!!

Cloverfield was terrible. I've been ranting about it since yesterday, but I don't really want to rant about it anymore. All I will say is if you're expecting a giant monster and/or entertaining characters prepare to be disappointed.

Live Free or Die Hard is your standard Die Hard although once you get into a certain point of the movie the bad guy's intimidation level drops by 150%

Eastern Promises is my favorite movie from 2007 next to No Country for Old Men. Viggo is AWESOME BEYOND AWESOME in this. He puts out a cigarette on his tongue and shivs the hell out of two dudes in a brutal fight scene while naked. Theres also this amazing Russian mafia initiation scene which includes vicious insults and tattoos. The story is fantastic and well paced. Naomi Watts is great. LOVE THIS MOVIE!! Go Cronenberg

Mortal Kombat is fun cheese, and I wanted all the side characters in Daylight to die an awful horrible death... well besides the dude who worked in the tunnels he was cool

THE END

Some new pics from my witchy comic. I might be set on calling it Black Circle, but again... name is still up in the air. Its funny that I figured out the ending before I figured out the title right? Laaaame!! I'm gonna add some arcane characters into the smoke bubbles in the first page, so that should look cool.

In other news, James got me this massive italian cooking bible thing. Its just a huge index of basic recipes, but I can easily tweak them to make awesome foodstuff. I made an awesome lentil and sausage soup last night. I'm sure its like 20x more exciting for me than it is for everybody else though!
